For the first time since the inception of the Department of Homeland Security, they have added human trafficking as one of their key missions. Here’s a quote from their just release Quadrennial Homeland Security Review:
“This Report also recognizes significant changes in the strategic environment by evolving the five enduring missions and by identifying a new mission for the first time since 2010 (Fig. 1). The Department has grown its capabilities over many years to combat crimes of exploitation, including human trafficking, labor exploitation and child exploitation. Now for the first time, it is a core mission of the Department recognized in a QHSR. The new mission, Combat Crimes of Exploitation and Protect Victims, will provide the basis for the necessary enhancements to combat these pernicious crimes.”

Stop Trafficking US is working with the Department, as well as other local and State law enforcement agencies, the Crimes Against Children Research Center – UNH, to bring in speakers from these agencies as well as several other key speakers with extensive backgrounds in evaluating and treating PTSD, trauma and, support of people in high-risk occupations to a conference titled “Unleashing, courageous resilience”, focused on giving these front line agents and officers the tools to gain resilience to preserve their health and personal relationships.

Our mission is to educate the public that 1 in 5 children are sexually abused; that abuse of children is the precursor to sex trafficking, addictions, incarceration and more. Our goal is to prevent this trauma and the domino effect of social ills through effective teaching and training. Our vision is to stop the sexual abuse of children.

Tenacious self-help, personal growth and ongoing healing through many different kinds of healing modalities. Now nearly 20 years of a life that Catherine says has been beyond her wildest dreams. Several years ago Catherine started the 501(c)(3) nonprofit StopTrafficking U.S.. This was born out of an inner calling to do everything she could do to prevent other children from going through what she did. Also to offer hope to victims that they too can heal and thrive… Over the last six years she has done exactly that. A highly respected visionary creating effective, efficient ways of educating individuals, families communities and states.
